October....
Wow, three months since our last update, how time has flown by. We have not been out of the bush since our last update in July so it has been nice to get up here to Hagen to visit with friends and get caught up again.
Lots has been happening in the last few months too. It has been really wet for the last few months which means the river is to high to swim in. But that's Ok the whole yard becomes one big swimming pool for the kids. The kids are growing like weeds and are playing great together.
Malachi has this aviation thing all figured out. The best shade is always under the plane.
On the flying side I have had two fun experiences lately. This is Woiwoi Falls, one of the most distracting approaches in the country. While approaching to land you have this spectacular waterfall on your left side. It is pretty tough to keep your eye on the runway instead of sneaking a peek at the falls.
One of the most memorable experience this last month was opening a new airstrip. I flew to the nearest airstrip and was driven to the site of new airstrip to inspect it. After the inspection I called in the plane and pilot from the other strip where I had been dropped.
The celebration that followed will not soon be forgotten.
The road that I traveld on is under up to a meter of water for six months of the year so this community is completely cut off from the rest of the country during that time. Now that they have their own airstrip they will have an easier time attracting health care workers, and teachers to their comunity now that they have better transportation.
We were showered with gifts including these Casowary head dresses. They looked much better on them than on me :)

Hi there,
Wow ~ looks like you guys have a lot on your plate! I thought having kids in the airline industry was adventurous, what with the moving around, but you guys are taking it to new heights. :)
How do you get involved with flying in PNG? I have always wanted to go there! Made it as far as Cape Trib in Australia.
Hey guys, lovin' the pictures. It's fun to see what life looks like a bit over there for you.
The land scape is beautiful. And Nick is great too in his celebration garb.
Keep them comming!
I too have a lot of pics from our kids who loved to play in the rain, the puddles and in Wai Maeri.
Thanks for your ministry
God Bless
Friedhelm
